Dear Ezzy team, I´ve a 2014 Elite in 5,3 and only a 430 ezzy mast. Is it the best to put out the top trimm for about 4 cm or what can I do? Thanks and kind regards. joern

    • ezzysails

great to hear from you Joern. The 5.3 truly works best on a 400cm mast. As it has one less batten than our traditional wave sail, you are more dependent upon the mast to be correct for overall stability and performance. I strongly suggest you try to pick up a 400 ezzy mast if you can. Otherwise, you can re-calibrate your sail to a 430 using this method:

Dear Ezzy team I have two of your sails, the first one is a wavepanther 5.5 and I use an amex 430 mast 80% carbon, is it a good combination? The second one is a wave special edition 4.7 and I use it with a Challenger 400 mast 100%, is this good? Thank you in advance and kind regards.

    • ezzysails

thank you for reaching out Carlo. Thank you for using our sails! Ezzy mast bend curves are tip: 75% to 79% and base: 62% to 65%. I’m not 100% sure what AMEX masts specs are, but if they are within the tolerances I list, the mast should work just fine. The Challenger 400 is also a decent mast for the 4.7. You might enjoy a slightly lighter feeling rig if you opt for the suggest Ezzy Mast combinations. You woudl enjoy a bit of weight reduction as we can scale the mast lengths down just a bit. Best thing to do to insure you are getting the most out of the sails is to send us images of your sails rigged up. We can check your tuning. Thanks!

Hey Ezzy team, I’m sailing with a 4,2 elite 2015 and i broke the top of the 370 mast. I still have in my quiver a Base of 340 and a Top of 400. Can i rig my 4,2 with that combo?
    Thanks

    • ezzysails

yes, you can rig your 4.2 on Base of 340 and a Top of 400.

      • Edouard

        Awesome,
The extension size remain the same ?

        • ezzysails

I recommend you check your calibration settings and overall mast measurement first. You can review the calibration technique here:

Hello, I’ve just bought an elite 5,3 2015, does it work with 2010 ezzy hookipa mast, and are the old mast compatible with 2015 models??
    Thanks

    • ezzysails

yes, the Ezzy masts from day one work great! We haven’t made any changes to the bend curve over the years, so old Ezzy masts work just as well as the brand new ones!

Hi, I finally try to rig my elite 5,3 2015 on a dynafiber C100 400, I need to increase the length of the downhaul extension 2,5 cm and the boom is 2 cm longer than the maxi for the medium setting.
    Is it normal?
Can you give me your opinion on the rigged sail , as medium position? ( I can’t test before 2 month) does it looks good?
    Thanks for your help

hi Sylvain, thank you for your inquiry. Because of the nature of the formatting in this forum, it is really difficult for me to see your attached images and really properly help you out. Perhaps you could forward all of this to us by direct email instead? You could send to [email protected] or [email protected] for fine tuning help!
