thank you for the email Dinh. I’ve got two suggestions for you to try:
1. if you have long enough extension, try rigging your 4.5 on a 370 tip/370 bottom.
2. you could try the 430 tip/370 bottom (which would give you 400cm length).

thank you for the message Eric. Any of our authorized Ezzy dealers can sell you just a 400 bottom. Which dealer did you purchase the 460 from? Which is your favorite windsurf shop?

I have a question similar to Peters 4 months ago. I have an Ezzy 460 RDM and want to make a 430 mast – you said in the previous: ” Yes, you are able to combine a 460 tip/400 bottom. You end up with a 430 mast that is within the tolerances of our mast. Works great. Where do you live? I can point you towards a dealer that can help! sorry about the trouble you’ve had with your mast Claire. Who is your dealer?
Our masts come with a 1 year warranty, but many times we bend the rules if it looks like there is an issue. Typically, when there is a “tear” in the mast like you’ve described, it is the result of the two pieces not being completely set together upon rigging. At any rate, please email me pics of the broken mast along with serial numbers so that I can take them to our supplier to investigate. My email is ezzy@gorge.net

hi would like to know what is the warranty with your masts as i was recently sailing with your masts and the top piece of the mast blow through the side wall of the bottom piece of the mast. was not in pressed as i had a long swim back to the beach and your suppiler was not intressed to help me same old same always excusses. i hope you can help me here i still have the broken me on my belongings if you wish to see it ? THANK YOU

If I purchased a RDM 400 (base+top) and a RDM 460 top, could I combine the 400 bottom + 460 top for a 430? Would it be structurally and functionally sound? If so, where can I purchase these components? Thanks!

thanks for the message Ronald. The mix and match system works great on the masts up to a two size gap. At best, you could take your 490 tip and mix it with a 430 bottom. This would yield a 460cm mast.
I would advise you to get a different mast for your 5.0, as a 460cm mast is too long to get great performance out of the 5.0.
What other size sails do you have?

Hi. I have a RDM 4.9m base and top, using Freeride 7.5M and 9.5M sails. I am planning to buy a Panther 2011 5.0M sail and would like to know which top could I use with my 4.9m base in order to rig the new 5.0M sail without buying a new whole set, if possible.

thanks for reaching out! Here is the most “down and dirty” configuration that I can drum up that should give you a great performing set up.

5.5 – 400 tip/400 bottom (no problem. Kevin Pritchard uses this set up and really likes it)
4.7 – 400 tip/400 bottom – perfect set up
4.0 – 400 tip/340 bottom – this yields you a 370cm mast that should work great for this sail.
