David Ezzy designs the head to have twist like this.
I think the important thing here to focus on is how the sail feels. Are you finding the sail feels balanced and powerful enough? Where did you purchase the sail from? Please let us know.

thank you for the message. David Ezzy designs the head to have twist like this.
I cut a piece of inner tube(4 inch /10 cm) of a MTB tire and roled it over the bottom half .
Just slide the top in and role the tube over the top half to seal the connection .
It's a bit Mac Gyver style but costs nothing and It will last for a while.
Thanks for your help and happy sailing.

kind regards <br

We have found some major differences in how people measure their extensions as well. These two reasons are exactly why we go to the trouble of marking the sails outhaul and downhaul with indicators so that you do not rely 100% on the luff and boom measurements for the sails.
I would advise you to get away from using measuring techniques, and instead rely on using the visual indicators for rigging the sail correctly. Do you know what year your sail is? You could closely watch our video rigging and read the rigging manual to become adept at tuning.
http://www.ezzy.com/rig-support/all-years-ezzy-...

Feel free to email me pictures of the sail rigged up and we can help. ezzy@gorge.net

Thank you for the submission. To my surprise it was several cm longer than in the spec. Now I want to measure my sail (if possible). Could you explain how to measure the Ezzy SE sail, luff and boom (do you have a picture/drawing of exact start/end point and which curve to follow). I need to use the long headstrap for my smallest sail and want to find the right "first guess" position and a good starting point for downhaul/outhaul experimentation. Thanks.

Hi, I was measuring my mast the other day (not Ezzy mast). To my surprise it was several cm longer than in the spec. Sorry to hear you are struggling with the mast.
It sounds to me like you might have a headcap that is not fitting quite right. Check to see the headcap is fitting snuggly. You might want to slip some duct tape around the top of the mast to prevent sandy water from washing into the tip.

It is ok to wet sand the ferrule a bit. All of the ferrules are centerless ground, so they should be very precise. However, you might find the sections can come apart more easily if you do some light careful sanding.

I will check with our mast producer to see if they have any suggestions as well.
Regards,
Tim

thanks for the message Frank.
