ezzy_cheetah_logoThe Cheetah is a ripping camless Freeride model that balances excellent performance and speed with the absolute best construction of any sail in its class.

An enhanced version of last years collection as well. We've upgraded the Cheetah with colorfilm, a beautiful new graphic layout, and both our Calibrated Downhaul System and traditional downhaul head gauges.

"Just a quick email to say what a fantastic day on Saturday I had on my new Cheetah 6.5, flat water blasting along our speed strip.

The Cheetah was stable and fast, I was on a Ray 130 Ltd clocking 30 knots plus (forgot my Garmin) but Adrian who recorded 35.6 mph on an isonic 90 with a Tushingham 6.5 Lightning could not catch me! Bryan on a new isonic 97 and an X-15 7.0 just managed to get past me, but it took him nearly 2 miles to pass me!

Thanks for designing and manufacturing such a great quality product that performs so well, I'm looking forward to a freeride bump and jump session."

Note on Ezzy Masts

Ezzy Sails work great with the Ezzy Mast system, but also work with a variety of other brand masts (RDM and regular diameter). You could contact your mast maker and see if the bend of your non-Ezzy mast is compliant.

Ezzy mast bend curves are tip: 75% to 79% and base: 62% to 65%

Note: this is not carbon content. This is percentage bend relative to the midpoint bend.

For further info on Ezzy Mast sizing, please refer to our Mast Configurator Tool

Our removable, 316 stainless steel tack pulley can be replaced with our 316 stainless D-ring for those who prefer a grommet with a pulley hook.

WOW!!! The colors on the new Cheetah’s are just super. last years sails were so good I didn’t see how you could improve them. Now I know. I must have some of these.

  • What exactly is changed from last year that made it faster?

    • ezzysails

thanks for asking. The new cheetah has a new graphic design, and the new calibrated downhaul system incorporated into it. The overall performance is very similar to last years.

Hello i am interested to buy a cheetah and i would like to help me with the size,
if i ll say you that the wind is from 10 to 20 knots and i am 70 kgs having a board of 130 lt
Is there any link with the wind “range” of every sail?
    Thank you in advance

    • ezzysails

thanks for asking! I would think perhaps a 6.5 Cheetah would be a great way to go, but so much of it depends upon your local conditions and your skill level. It is truly best to ask the advice of a local shop if it is possible!

I have an older Fiberspar World Cup Reflex 4500 mast with the following specs written on the mast; 490cm, MCS-26, IMCS-29, Constant curve.
Will a 2013 8.5m Cheetah or Lion work on this mast until I can upgrade to a newer mast?

    • ezzysails

that mast should work just fine.

Would the Cheetah 6.5 have more speed than my 6.3 wave in 8-20 knots. I wave ride a 10-6 Bic sup in really small surf. And use my 6.3 with a Mistral superlight in the bay and ocean in Long Beach Ca. I have a 430 ezzy mast. My 6.3 has got me gliding and planning good the past 3 years with alot of water time. Just thinking of giving my 6.3 a Break.

    • ezzysails

thanks for the message Ryan! Yes, the 6.5 Cheetah would have more speed than the 6.3 wave. It is built more for straight line efficiency and performance.
      Hope this helps!

Hi! I have a Starboard Futura 101l and I would like to buy an Ezzy Cheetah 2013.I am a good surfer and like high speed and i am 80kgs.My question is if I should take a 6.0 or 7.0 sail and if the mast should be SDM or RDM? Thank you for your kind asstance and help!

    • ezzysails

      hi Adam,
great to hear from you! Where do you live? perhaps you could demo? One other thing to consider is that the 7.0 really needs a 460, where the 6.0 works best on a 430cm mast. The Futura would certainly be floaty enough to manage a 7.0 and 460, but the 6.0 and 430cm mast would be quite easy to manage for any sailor. We like our Ezzy RDM masts in our sails, but we build them to accommodate both SDM and RDM masts. Let us know what brand masts you are considering and we can help you select the mast with the best bend characteristics. You might try replying directly to [email protected] for better service.
