On October 5th 1989, I was born in the Mecca of windsurfing, Maui,
Hawaii. By the time I was 12 years old, I was windsurfing alongside my dad at
Hookipa everyday after school. I loved sailing in the waves- riding them, jumping
them, and just connecting with the energy of the ocean. Wave riding provided me
with a needed outlet for creative expression.
The summer when I was 15, I traveled to Europe for the first time to compete on
the PWA World Tour. Since then, I have been doing most of PWA wave circuit.
I graduated Seabury Hall high school in May of 2007. Now, I am studying at Princeton
University. While at University, I will maintain my windsurfing and still compete
on the World Tour. I can’t rest till I’m the best! |

Further Comments:
Push the limits; fear is the enemy.
Windsurfing offers the ultimate freedom of movement in a three dimensional
world; through use of the wind and waves, I can move in any direction. The blissful
feeling of floating over the smooth sea contrasts the highly energetic adrenaline
rush of sailing in large waves. This combination creates a beautifully harmonious
balance. This balance, along with the direct contact with nature, makes windsurfing
therapeutic for my mind.
