Jesse Jacob Brown Born: Dec. 30th 1974
Born in a small town in Tennessee called Sewanee.
Grew up as one of the local Hillbillies in the neighborhood sporting a mullet
cut.
Learned to windsurf on Hank Williams lake in TN with my parents when I was 11.
When Josh Angulo started the world tour, I had just
managed to Quit dipping Copenhagen (age 13).
It was then I knew I wanted to be just like the "Big Man"!
I've been gaining weight and sailing more and more like Josh ever since.
Sailed in the waves for the first time in Hatteras at age 14.
First trip to the Columbia River Gorge later that year.
Took first place in the three legged race in 10th grade.
Invited to the Florida Marlins tryout camp senior year of high-school with Nicky
Saussy.
Learned how to wave sail on the Oregon Coast with Josh Angulo.
1995 University of Tennessee foosball champion.
Moved to Maui in 97.
Started helping Dave Ezzy with sail design in 99.
Started riding for Quatro in 2001.
Just finished building a house with my brother here in Haiku and plan on staying
for a while.
My diehard sponsors include Ezzy Sails, Quatro Boards, Powerex Masts,
Chinook sailing products, Moku Hawaii clothing, Smith Glasses.
An average day for me starts when I climb into my 65 Ford Falcon with all my gear
dripping wet from yesterdays late session and head to the Kuau Mart for breakfast.
I start to wake up as I dig into my hefty helping of meatballs and rice as I pull
into Hookipa. Make my rounds giving high-fives to all my fellow windboarders,
then rig up my 5.0. Ill sail for a few hours before the crowd thickens then
its back to the Kuau Mart for lunch. Eat lunch on the guardrail shooting the shit
with Dave Ezzy, Jake Miller, and Josh Angulo about ideas on sails, then its back
to the water till dark or till the wind dies. De-rig and talk with everyone about
the moves we stuck, or better yet, the ones we ate shit trying. Off to the house
for a shower and down to the local bar for a bit of night life. When the nights
winding down its a relief to know youll do it all over again the next
day.
