Two cams, with a narrow mast sleeve:
The Lion delivers the ideal balance of power and control. Its narrow mast sleeve makes
waterstarts and uphauling easy, and you can rig it your way: two-cam, single-cam, or no-cam.
What does it feel like on the water?
Fast, light, and slippery through the air. A deeper profile above the boom drives early planing and rock-solid stability, while scrim reinforcements that don’t absorb water keep the sail feeling light—even after hours on the water.
Why choose the Lion?
- Lightweight scrim and Dyneema X-Ply: maximum strength, minimum weight
- Calibrated downhaul system for fast, accurate rigging
- Extra cams included to match your mast
- Removable tack pulley (swap for a D-ring when using a Duotone ratchet extension)
- Every Lion is rigged, tuned, and checked in our factory before it leaves—ready to go straight out of the bag
Is the Lion right for you?
If you want high-performance freeriding with zero fuss, the Lion is your sail.
What do we mean by “quality construction” on the Lion?
Decades of sailing on Maui have shaped how we build sails. The Lion is built to hold up in powerful wind, salt, and UV. There’s no brittle monofilm and nothing disposable. Instead, the Lion is built from lightweight scrim laminates, Dyneema, and Technora-reinforced panels, the same materials we trust on the waves. RBS epoxy battens—the toughest on the market—complete the structure.
Every seam is bonded, reinforced, and then sewn for long-term durability. Our factory is Ezzy-owned and Ezzy-run for one reason: we haven’t found anyone else who can consistently meet our standards.
Before a Lion leaves the loft, it’s rigged and tuned by hand. Every panel and batten is checked, and each sail is inspected at full rig—ready for the water straight out of the bag.
We focus on the details, so you can forget about them once you launch.
How does calibrated rigging save time?
Rigging shouldn’t feel like a puzzle. The Lion’s downhaul guide shows exactly where to set your tension—just line the marker up with the mast. No hunting for the right setting, no trial and error. Clew indicators on the sail make it easy to dial in boom length and outhaul. Because every Lion is rigged and calibrated at the factory, your first setup is already 90% dialed.
Less time on the beach. More time planing.
What are sailors saying about the new Lion?
“ The Lion has a huge usable range. My 8.0 covered 12 to 19 knots in one session. "
"At speed, it’s right up there with race sails—30–31mph on a race board in chop—but it keeps the easy handling of a freeride rig."
"In light wind, it pumps up faster and powers up quicker because of the lighter feel. The 7.5 genuinely feels like a 6.5, but with the range of a 7.5."
"I’ve passed riders on full race quivers while having a better time. This year’s model jibes almost like a no-cam, and the weight savings are real. The new Lion is my go-to from 6.5 and up.”
Is the Lion right for you?
If you want a fast, stable 2-cam freeride sail with materials and construction built for real use—not marketing claims—the Lion is a solid fit. It’s easy to rig, strong enough to trust, and tuned to deliver performance without the hassle.

The Ezzy Hookipa Mast
Ezzy Sails work great with the Ezzy Mast system, but also work with a variety of other brand masts (RDM and regular diameter). You could contact your mast maker and see if the bend of your non-Ezzy mast is compliant.
Ezzy mast bend curves are tip: 75% to 79% and base: 62% to 65%
Note: this is not carbon content. This is percentage bend relative to the midpoint bend.
